Branding, Design, and Marketing for Small Business

My name is Erik Harding and my business is called Electric Crow Media. I specialize in helping small businesses make themselves known so they can be successful. I’ve seen too many small businesses struggle because creating, maintaining, and organizing their website, social media, and visual presence is too much to keep up with. Most small business owners are not marketing, web, or social media experts. I focus on those items so small businesses can focus on the things they are good at.

Statement on Generative AI

I never use generative AI in any of my work. There are multiple reasons I do not believe it is ethical at this point.

• Environmental. At the very least, the environmental, energy, and water impact massive data centers have is hard to justify. I try to turn the lights and water facets off when I am not using them. Every generative AI inquiry is like leaving the lights and water facets on.
• Copyright. There are huge concerns with training data and copyright. Generative AI frequently copies enough out of previous work to violate copyright. It usually gets away with it because it is hard to track down.
• AI Bias and diversity. I am actively trying to be more inclusive. Generative AI does not try to be more inclusive and instead continues to cement exclusionary trends since it only mimics trends that already exist.
• Quality. Last but not least, the quality of these quick images is usually garbage. The lighting is often flat or completely wrong and body parts are usually disproportionate to each other.
