Video Editor for Americanizing Buddhism Online Course

I worked as a video editor for the Americanizing Buddhism Online Course offered by Deer Park Monastery. Deer Park Monastery is a Buddhist monastery following the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh in Escondido, California. They provide many retreats and online courses to help people develop mindfulness practices. I have visited the monastery on retreat multiple times and I volunteer remotely with video editing.

This was a hybrid course with 7 live lectures recorded and then edited into a format for online participants. I was on a team with two others watching and editing the videos to ensure they were correctly formatted to post online. For some of the videos I overlaid slides onto the video when the camera didn’t capture the screen very well. A few videos needed audio tweaks as well.

I used DaVinci Resolve for the video and audio editing. Below is the Course Preview Q&A which I edited.
